During one of my training, I asked the participants what is their definition of creativity and here are some of their responses:
Definition:
l doing surprise something unexpectedly
l doing thin in an unusual way
l creativity is running risk
l insight, action, concrete
l creativity is art, passion, could be abstract, some creative for some, could be meaningless for others, no boundaries.
l different way to think about and do something.
l creativity is positively related to happiness
l think out of the box
l not limited by what others have done before which is widely accepted by others.
l can be crazy ideas and thoughts
I searched the internet and found some other definitions:
From Ikea: Creativity
The ability to make or otherwise bring into existence something new, whether a new solution to a problem, a new method or device, or a new artistic object or form. (http://www.uk-idea.co.uk/html/basics.html)
Abstract from Wikipedia:
One can define creativity as the mental phenomena, skills and/or tools capable of originating (and subsequently developing) innovation, inspiration or insight. Pop psychology generally may associate it with right or forehead brain activity or even specifically with lateral thinking.
